Music into 2012

Folkstation Fundraiser - Sunday 26th February, 4pm til 8pm, at The Dairyman's Daughter, Arreton
Acts confirmed include Second Time Around, Beachcomber, All Washed Up, Cephalodidge, Slombers Wake plus others AND a dance performance by Bloodstone Border morris. Followed by a big folk session. Grand fundraising raffle (prizes include a free ticket to Folkstation Festival). Just turn up and tune in!

Dave and Boo at The Quay Arts Centre, Newport
Dave and Boo are playing the Quay Arts on Friday March 2nd at 8pm.tickets £10. This is the first visit to the island for this wonderful duo with five albums to their name.They played this years Cambridge festival.more info at www.daveandboo.com.

The Men of Wight morris side cordially invite folk musicians and singers to their monthly folk session at the Prince of Wales pub in Newport, 9.30pm. The next one will be in February so watch this space for details.

Isle of Arts Festival 2012

Amnesty International Fundraiser
Island band, Second Time Arounnd and singer/songwriter David Hughes will be featuring at an Amnesty International Fundraising Gig on March 23rd at Wootton Community Hall. Starts at 7.30pm and tickets are only £5-00 from Music Central or Waterstones, both in Newport.

Wolverton Folk and Blues Fair
A heads up for a great one-day festival at Wolverton Manor. Saturday 12th May, 12pm to 8pm. Bands already booked include Beachcomber, DollyMopps, Damien Paul & The Whisky River Band, Grizzled Skipper, The MoonShiners and Jamie Griffin. More bands to be announced. Tented cafe, real ales, Tea tent, Facepainting, BBQ, Bouncy Castle and Zumba. Watch this space for details.
