The Isle of Wight has three large capacity theatres - Medina, Ryde and Shanklin plus Ventnor Winter Gardens - all 600+ seaters.

There are some smaller halls such as Freshwater Memorial Hall (200+ seaters).

Local promoters, Vaguely Sunny Promotions, use churches and village halls to create a more intimate atmosphere for their smaller or home-grown concerts.

A large number of public houses, hotels and restaurants on the island host regular gigs and sessions all year round. These pubs have helped support music of all genres for many years.

There is one folk festival on the island each year - FolkStation, held at Havenstreet Steam Railway. FolkStation is a growing event with music, sessions and dancing from far and awide. 2010 will be a good year for the festival, with Spiers and Boden headlining on the Saturday night. See Links page for FolkStation website.
